It is estimated that Rs 113 crore will be spent on the consecration of the idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. This has come to light in the information received from Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust. The consecration of the idol of Ram Lalla took place on 22 January 2024. The temple trust said that the total expenditure on the construction of Ram temple so far has reached Rs 1,800 crore.
The trust’s report also states that by the end of this year, it is estimated that Rs 670 crore will be spent on this project in the next two years. In the recent meeting of the trust, a comprehensive review of the finances for the financial year 2023-24 was presented. In the annual accounts of the trust, the total expenditure was Rs 676 crore, while the income was Rs 363.34 crore.
A large part of this income (Rs 204 crore) has come from bank interest, while Rs 58 crore came in the form of donations. Trust general secretary Champat Rai said that the expenditure is estimated to be Rs 850 crore during April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025. In the last 4 years, devotees have donated about 20 kg of gold and 13 quintals of silver for the temple. The trust will file its income tax return in September.
It is worth noting that good news has come for the priests, sevadars and employees of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. Everyone’s salary has increased by 10 percent. On 22 January 2024, Ramlala’s Pran Pratishtha was done in the grand temple and after that Lord Ram was seated in his grand palace. Only 7 months after this, his priests and sevadars have received a special gift. The salary of the chief priest, assistant priest, sevadars and employees here has been increased by ten percent.
