New Delhi: Relations between India and America are getting better. Another big example of this has come to light. Security of Supply Agreement has been signed between India and America. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is currently on a visit to America. This agreement has been signed during this time. According to this agreement, now both the countries will give priority to each other’s national defense needs. Let us tell you that America supplies its weapons all over the world. All the countries of the world including NATO countries are increasing their strength through American weapons. In this connection, this big deal has been done between India and America.
India too uses US weapons. This includes C-17 Globe Master, C-130j Super Hercules, Apache attack helicopters, Chinook helicopters, M-777 artillery guns and many others. And similarly, it has sold its weapons and platforms to other countries on a large scale. An important agreement has been signed to enable India to obtain necessary industrial resources from each other so that if there is an unexpected supply chain disruption, then it can be resolved.

what is this agreement
Now the question is what is this agreement. So this agreement is Security of Supply Agreement (SOSA). This agreement contains such provisions that in case of any disruption in the supply chain, both the countries can use each other’s resources. If we understand this in simple language, then both the countries will give priority to each other to fulfill their defense needs.
However, both the countries will not be bound by this. But they will give priority, that is, if India or America needs any national defense related goods and services from each other, then they will give preference to each other first under the SOSA agreement. America has a total of 18 countries in the world with whom this agreement is signed.
After the signing of this agreement, the US Department of Defense (DoD) issued a statement and said that this agreement will enable both countries to obtain necessary industrial resources from each other so that if there is an unexpected supply chain disruption, it can be resolved and national security needs can be met. According to the US Department of Defense, the US and India have agreed to provide each other with goods and services that promote national defense.
Let us tell you that the mechanism of SOSA strengthens the US defense trade partners. India is the eighteenth SOSA partner of the US. The other US partners are Australia, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. During the talks of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, both the countries expressed happiness over this agreement. Also, an MoU was signed between the two countries for the deployment of a liaisoning officer and a liaisoning officer will be deployed at the headquarters of Special Operations Command in Florida, USA.
