During the trip, the two also visited Dr. Hassan Al-Tamimi, the director of Al-Mansour Medical City, the largest hospital in the country, and former Iraqi minister, to talk about the health system in Iraq. This has been severely affected by the war. A cooperation between the hospital and Kybun Joya to equip the hospital staff is being discussed further.

The Arab market has so far proven to be “fertile ground” for Kybun Joya. Swiss products generally enjoy a high reputation in the region. The shoe company has recently been able to grow significantly in the Middle East.

“Personalities such as Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zaid, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the head of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, wear our shoes,” explains co-CEO Karl Müller. “When Arab heads of state wear our shoes at public appearances, all of our stores are sold out the next day. This triggers real panic buying,” adds Claudio Minder.
