Citing evidence, the agency said that only accused Sanjay Roy was involved in the rape and murder that took place at RG Kar Hospital. According to News18, the CBI is preparing a “strong chargesheet” against the sole accused Sanjay Roy, ruling out the possibility of gangrape in the death of a trainee doctor in Kolkata.

Roy, 33, was a civic volunteer who was reportedly allowed free access to the state-run hospital. On August 23, Roy was sent to 14-day judicial custody. Kolkata Police arrested him on August 10. The trainee doctor’s body was found in the seminar hall on the fourth floor of RG Kar Hospital a day earlier.

When?” he posted on social media site X.

For the past few days, Trinamool Congress has been demanding the CBI to file a chargesheet as soon as possible. The Calcutta High Court had handed over the investigation of the 9 August case from Kolkata Police to the CBI. The police had arrested the main accused in the case, Sanjay Roy, after the 9 August incident.
