Share Market Today: Due to heavy buying in the last hour, the stock market reached a new record high today on 12 September. The Sensex crossed 83,000 points for the first time. At the same time, the Nifty also jumped 470 points to reach 25,400. Due to this, the wealth of stock market investors increased by about Rs 6 lakh crore in a day today.
At the end of trading, the BSE Sensex jumped 1,439.55 points or 1.77 per cent to close at 82,962.71. During the day’s trading, it touched its new all-time high of 83,116.19 points. At the same time, the NSE’s 50-share index, Nifty, rose 470.45 points or 1.89 per cent to close at 25,388.90. It also made its new record high of 25,433.35 points today.
Investors earned ₹5.9 lakh crore
The total market capitalization of companies listed on BSE rose to Rs 466.66 lakh crore today on September 12, from Rs 460.76 lakh crore on the previous trading day i.e. Wednesday, September 11. In this way, the market cap of companies listed on BSE has increased by about Rs 5.9 lakh crore today. Or in other words, investors’ wealth has increased by about Rs 5.9 lakh crore.
Sensex’s 5 highest rising stocks
Amidst a huge rally, 29 out of 30 BSE Sensex stocks closed in the green today. NTPC’s stock rose the most by 3.87 percent. After this, Bharti Airtel, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), JSW Steel and Adani Ports’ shares closed with a gain of 3.68 percent to 2.94 percent.
On the other hand, only one Sensex stock, Nestle India, closed with a marginal decline of 0.09 per cent today.
5 biggest losers on Sensex
The remaining 20 Sensex stocks closed with a decline today. Tata Motors was the top loser with a decline of 5.74 percent. State Bank of India (SBI), NTPC, Adani Ports and L&T stocks saw a decline of 1.51% to 1.83%.

2,335 stocks rose
The number of stocks that closed with gains on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today was high. A total of 4,069 stocks were traded on the exchange today. Out of this, 2,335 stocks closed with gains. At the same time, 1,612 stocks declined. While 122 stocks closed flat without any fluctuation. Apart from this, 278 stocks touched their new 52-week high during trading today. At the same time, 36 stocks touched their new 52-week low.
