Former Haryana Congress MLA Lalit Nagar broke down on Thursday after he was denied a ticket for the October 5 assembly elections. The emotional leader said he worked hard to strengthen his party but was “stabbed in the back”. Addressing his supporters in Faridabad’s Tigaon, Nagar said, “I had invited you all today thinking that I would perform havan and then file my nomination as a Congress candidate, but some of our enemies hatched a conspiracy and an attempt was made to murder me politically.”
Nagar was a contender for the ticket from Tigaon assembly constituency, but Congress has fielded a new face Rohit Nagar from this seat. Sharda Rathore and Jitendra Kumar Bhardwaj have also expressed their displeasure over not getting the ticket from Congress.

‘Some conspirators stabbed me in the back’
Like the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state, the Congress is also facing the anger of some leaders for not giving tickets.
Lalit Nagar told his supporters that he was expecting to get the ticket but ‘some conspirators stabbed me in the back.’
On Congress fielding Rohit Nagar from Tigaon, the former MLA said, “If my party had fielded a strong candidate, I could have understood, but the ticket has been given to a candidate whom people do not even know.”
He sought suggestions from his supporters, who advised him to contest as an independent candidate. “Now you will have to contest against me,” Lalit Nagar said.
Former Congress MLA cried in front of everyone
Rathore, a former MLA and a ticket aspirant from Ballabhgarh, also cried in front of her supporters after the Congress refused to give her the ticket.
Dissatisfaction has also surfaced in Gurugram’s Sohna assembly constituency. Here, strong contender and senior party leader Jitendra Kumar Bhardwaj did not get the ticket.
Bhardwaj wrote on the social media platform, ‘Sorry friends, today service, dedication and loyalty were defeated.’
