A minor was working in the MLA’s house for 9 years

Bhadohi SP Meenakshi Katyayan said that the 17-year-old girl had been working as a domestic help in the MLA’s house for nine years. Another minor was also working there with her for two years and was rescued from there this week. The matter came to light after the suicide of a minor

This week, a teenager committed suicide at the MLA’s residence, after which the whole case was investigated. Officials began to investigate the conditions under which minors were working at the MLA’s residence. Now the Labor Department has issued a notice to the MLA and his wife, alleging that they forced a 17-year-old girl to work without pay, which is a violation of child labor laws. In the notice, both the husband and wife have been asked to respond within a week regarding the allegations of child abuse.
