Life On Mars: Mars has always been the first choice of scientists in the search for life in space and in the search of settling life. Recently, NASA scientists have discovered something in the gravitational field of the northern hemisphere of Mars, which can change the picture of our earth and humanity. In the future, we will not only think about settling humans on Mars but we will also become capable of it. Recently, while NASA scientists were searching in the gravitational field of Mars, they found evidence of the existence of oceans on the surface of Mars.
While the search for gravity was going on on Mars, scientists have come to know about the hidden structures of Mars, where an ocean used to flow. According to Science Alert, scientists have discovered this by taking data obtained from several space missions and high quality modeling. The findings have shown that the processes going on in the mantle of Mars give evidence of the solar system’s largest volcano Olympus Mons. Bart Root of Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) gave this information at the Europlanet Science Congress (EPSC) in Berlin. He said that we have unveiled the mystery of the inner part of the red planet.
These are the remains of a volcano
Root further said, ‘These frozen structures found on the surface of Mars may be the remains of volcanoes. All of them must have shrunk over time. We have identified about 20 unique evidences of different sizes near the North Pole, one of which is the size of a dog. At the same time, there is no evidence of these features on the surface of Mars. However, gravity data gives us an interesting glimpse of the old history of the northern hemisphere of Mars.
Home to the largest volcano, Olympus Mons
Satellite images revealed that the northern polar regions are about 300-400 kg/m³ denser than the surrounding area. The research also provides new information about the underworld of the Tharsis Rise. It is home to the solar system’s largest volcano, Olympus Mons. Dr. Root and his team discovered a huge light structure about 1,750 kilometers wide, located 1,100 kilometers below the surface, causing the Tharsis region to bulge upward. This shows that internal processes are going on inside Mars. This will help in human settlement on Mars in the future.
