Milan: Trade fairs report stable visitor numbers

Traders and buyers travelled to Milan from a total of 140 countries; most of them from Europe, especially Spain, Germany and France. The organisers recorded double-digit growth in visitors from North America, followed by the Far East with China and Japan at the top.

The Italian manufacturers’ association Assocalzatuarifici, as organizer, draws a confident conclusion: “The trade fairs have confirmed themselves as undisputed protagonists of the innovation scene. They have strengthened their role as a meeting and development center and embody the essence of excellence.” The supporting program of fashion shows, the presentation of young designers and cooperation with start-ups in particular made a valuable contribution.
At a time of profound change in the fashion world, which is characterized by digitalization and sustainability, the trade fair quartet now also showcased the artistic skills that arise from the value chain. The organizers also deliberately placed an emphasis on training and employment opportunities for younger generations.

According to the organizers, a total of 40,821 visitors came to the four Milan trade fairs Micam, Lineapelle, The One Milano and Fashion & Jewels in February.

In September 2023, 42,273 trade visitors followed the call to Milan. In February 2022, 48,000 visitors were counted.
