Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s US visit, some good news may come from the Russia-Ukraine war. In fact, during the last few months, the Indian government and PM Modi have made a lot of efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war. After visiting Russia in August, PM Modi reached Kiev to meet the President of Ukraine in September. After this, PM Modi’s special envoy and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval had reached Moscow recently. Although he had gone to Moscow to attend a BRICS meeting, but there he conveyed PM Modi’s special message to President Vladimir Putin. He had informed Putin about the conversation with President Zelensky during PM Modi’s visit to Ukraine.
The whole world is watching this diplomatic initiative of India to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, who arrived in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly, and Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andril Sibiha met. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister gave information about this meeting by posting a post on X. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister said that he discussed with Jaishankar about taking forward the talks held during PM Modi’s visit to Kiev. Along with this, there was also a discussion about strengthening bilateral relations between the two leaders.
It is worth noting that PM Modi will leave for America on 21 September. During this time he will participate in the Quad summit. America, Australia, Japan and India are members of Quad. The establishment of Quad is to adopt a collective strategy to balance the growing influence of China in the Indo-Pacific region. In this tour, PM Modi will hold face-to-face meetings with the heads of many other countries. He will also address a special meeting of the United Nations.
