The mystery of the Mahalakshmi murder case in Bengaluru is now getting complicated. Police say that the main suspect in this case, Mukti Ranjan Ray, had already been identified. The police were searching for him. Meanwhile, a new twist has come. Mukti Ranjan Roy’s body was found hanging from a tree in Odisha. It is being said that the suspect was hiding in Odisha after killing Mahalakshmi. Roy is accused of killing Mahalakshmi and cutting her body into 59 pieces.
30-year-old Mukti Ranjan Ray was absconding. His body was found in a village under Dhusuri police station in Bhadrak district of Odisha. It is being said that Ray hanged himself on Tuesday morning near Kulepada cemetery by placing a laptop on the scooter. Police have recovered a bag, notebook and scooter from near the body. Police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem and after the report, the body was handed over to the family.

According to The Indian Express, Odisha Additional Director General of Law and Order Sanjay Kumar said that the police have found a suicide note. In which Ray has allegedly confessed to killing Mahalakshmi. Kumar further said that Odisha Police has already registered a case of unnatural death. Based on the suicide note, Bengaluru Police said that Ray is the accused in this Mahalakshmi murder case. Earlier, in the case of murder of 29-year-old Mahalakshmi, it was said that Ray is the main suspect. The deceased woman used to work as a saleswoman. According to information received from police sources, both Ray and Mahalakshmi used to work together. There was a dispute between them regarding the relationship with another person. However, the source did not reveal the identity of that person.
