Telecom services may be better for you from Tuesday. TRAI’s two new rules related to call drops and unwanted calls will come into effect from October 1. Explaining how consumers will benefit from this, Aseem Manchanda of CNBC-Awaaz said that now telecom services will be better than before. Call drops and unwanted calls will be stopped. Aseem Manchanda told that there is going to be a change in the Quality of Service rules after 10 years. Under the new rules, now a fine ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10 lakh can be imposed on companies for poor telecom services. If the quality of services is not up to the mark, a fine of up to Rs 1 lakh can be imposed. Companies will also have to activate filters related to unwanted calls. Companies making unwanted calls can be blacklisted for 2 years.
OTP may get stuck from tomorrow
Under the new rules, it will be necessary to join the ‘Whitelist’ to send messages. Companies not included in the ‘whitelist’ will have to be blocked. So far 3,000 companies have been ‘whitelisted’. This rule may affect your OTP. Messages from companies that are not included in your ‘Whitelist’ will not come. 70,000 message templates are included in the list.
