E-commerce: Sales are stagnating – schuhkurier

The ranking of the top 1000 online retailers is led by Amazon (14.7 billion euros) and Otto (4.2 billion euros), followed by Zalando (2.5 billion euros) in third place. The greatest growth was achieved by: Amazon (+1.9%) was able to reach the web shops of Apotheke.com (+15.4%), Ikea (+6.9%) and About You (+2.3%).

The hybrid online shops were able to achieve these results mainly through the connected partners, as the marketplace volume, which includes the partners’ sales, often performed better than their own sales. Although Amazon as an online shop recorded an increase in sales of 1.9%, as a marketplace the platform is growing by a whopping 10.9%. Otto.de’s own sales fell by 7.1%, while the marketplace increased by 2.0%. And this is also the case at Zalando: While sales fell by 3.8% last year, the decline in marketplace volume was still limited at -2.0%.

From abroad, Shein in particular was able to climb into the top 20: with sales of 567 million euros, Textilit increased this by 133 million euros, or 30.6%, putting Shein in 18th place among the largest German online shops can. Temu narrowly misses out on making it into the top 10 marketplace rankings with an e-commerce GMB of €690 million, while Aliexpress is in seventh place with a GMV of €1.24 billion and an increase of 43% makes it comfortable.
