At Shoes Düsseldorf in September, it wasn’t just the comfortable sofa and the elegant black shelves that made the start-up Sleeco’s stand stand out. The shoes themselves also invited you to take a closer look. Anyone who has only seen the stand between barefoot shoe brands and e-commerce service providers out of the corner of their eye might actually think at first that normal sneakers are on display here. It was only upon closer inspection that the difference in materials became apparent. The company was founded in 2021 with the aim of producing slippers that do not lose any of their comfort but look like sneakers, explain the founders Johannes Gabriel and Christopher Kloster: “We were both independently looking for slippers that kept our feet warm for years , but also look good and modern. Unfortunately, despite an intensive search, we didn’t find anything suitable and then decided to design our own stylish slippers. This is how Sleeco was founded, a mixture of the English words sleek and comfy – chic and comfortable.” The brand is intended to be an alternative to playful slippers on the one hand and classic models on the other, which are otherwise so strong in this segment are represented. Another use case should be long-haul flights, where they can be stowed in hand luggage to save space and then have comfortable shoes ready
