Guess confirms expansion plans – schuhkurier

With currently 24 stores in Germany, including the Guess Jeans flagship store in Berlin, and eight stores in Austria, the company plans to further increase its visibility and experience for consumers from north to south. This is how a message from Guess, which is available to schuhkurier, describes it.

Despite the current challenging market environment, they see great potential in stationary retail and “firmly believe in the importance of the physical shopping experience” and will therefore invest in both their own retail stores and in the wholesale sector.

The focus of the investment strategy is on strengthening physical trade. The plan is to increase the presence in large cities through targeted expansion. A spokeswoman for Guess did not confirm in an interview with schuhkurier whether this involves the takeover of currently closed Scotch & Soda locations, as was recently described in a media report. However, she explained that negotiations were ongoing. Results should be available in four to five weeks.

In the wholesale sector, Guess wants to focus on strengthened partnerships and alliances across all product lines and genders. This includes more shop-in-shop concepts and optimized positioning of the brand in the wholesale segment.
