Skepticism and possible identity of Satoshi Nakamoto
After the announcement of the premiere of the documentary, the bitcoiner community has shown skepticism. CriptoNoticias reported on Thursday, October 3, the opinions of multiple users, one of them was BitcoinMotorist who commented: «I don’t know who Satoshi is, but I do know who he is not. “Anyone who appears in this documentary is not Satoshi.”

HBO’s potential reveal is serving as fuel for predictive markets. In Polymarket, users give as a possible candidate to be revealed as Satoshi the developer Len Sassaman who was a cypherpunk expert in cryptography, privacy activist and a pioneer in his specialty. Sassaman died on July 3, 2011, at age 31, after committing suicide possibly motivated by depression.
