This feature, launched in May for select users, is now available globally.
The Ethereum Naming Service was also integrated into its testnets, Sepolia and Holesky.
Google incorporated the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) on October 8. Ethereum Name Service) in your search engine. This integration allows users search for addresses Ethereum (ETH) in the search engine using easy-to-remember domain names instead of character strings.
The integration of ENS with Google could simplify the adoption of the use of cryptocurrencies (in this case ether, token native to Ethereum), by making the interaction with the on-chain addresses that host them more intuitive and direct.
The announcement was published by the ENS account in X, where it also clarified that this function had previously been released in May 2024 for some select users and It is now open worldwide.
On the other hand, Nalin, developer Web3 of Google, explained that the service ENS was integrated with the testnets (testnets) of Ethereum, Sepolia and Holesky. This initiative allows users to enter their readable .eth address to receive small amounts of test ETH (“drips«) from these networks.
The testnets of Ethereum, such as Sepolia and Holesky, are virtual environments that replicate the functionalities of the Ethereum main network, but without using real funds. These networks serve as laboratories for developers and users to experiment, test, and debug decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts before launching them to the mainnet.
Previously, users had to use complex hexadecimal addresses to interact with Ethereum testnets. The introduction of ENS simplifies this process, making it more accessible to a wider audience. By using an .eth address, users can avoid the potential errors and inconveniences associated with manually entering long strings of hexadecimal characters (although the most common practice is to copy and paste addresses and not type character by character).
However, a disadvantage of using these types of domain name tools is that tend to become more complex over timelike emails. This is due to the fact that a greater number of people use it and reserve those domain names.
After the announcement, users reacted positively
After announcing the integration, some users began to verify the service and reply to the publication with images of Ethereum holdings checked in the Google search engine.
The first of them was the pseudonymous user articuno.ethwho showed his funds of 0.012 ETH, which is equivalent to almost 30 dollars.

Next, another user of this messaging platform answered the thread and displayed the holdings of an account called vitalik.eth and expressed his desire for this tool to be integrated into applications in the Chinese market to “conquer the world.”

In this case, the account has holdings of 92.6 ETHwhich is equivalent to approximately $225,000.
In this way, as companies push similar technology standards, the future of cryptocurrency adoption and use could become more seamlessly integrated into users’ daily lives.
From Google, CriptoNoticias notified on September 18 of the launch of the Blockchain RPC service (Remote Procedure Call or Remote Procedure Call). This tool allows developers interact directly with the Ethereum blockchain without the need to configure and maintain your own node infrastructure.
