Cleaning and repairing in the sneaker car wash
Cleaning and restoring is good for your wallet and also saves resources, that’s Stefanie Fuchs-Bornscheuer’s motto, who also wants to make a contribution to more sustainability: In order to extend the lifespan of the sneakers, she created a video for end customers that shows How you can clean your sneakers quickly and easily at home. The entrepreneur only uses environmentally friendly cleaning products in the sneaker wash. The services cost around 25 euros for a basic cleaning to around 40 euros for a deep cleaning. Stefanie Fuchs-Bornscheuer discusses the repair and maintenance work with her customers in advance; when they order online, she has photos of the “patients” sent to them. “There are also models that have exceeded their expiration date, and I sometimes reject them,” explains the specialist.
Sneakers that remain in the car wash for treatment go through an intensive program: the surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, the soles are freed of dirt and the insoles are prepared. “The shoelaces and the shoe tongue also receive a cleaning so that they match the clean new look,” adds Fuchs-Bornscheuer. Finally, the shoes are waterproofed, deodorized and disinfected. Foxbox sells cleaning and care products for sneakers for home care. The enthusiasm for cleaning is contagious. The entrepreneur receives a lot of positive feedback from customers: “It spurs me on and motivates me to keep cleaning.”
