As part of the “Active together – local trade” competition, the company founders Bianca Both and Matthias Janßen were honored and, in addition to the certificate, received prize money of 5,000 euros.
The shoe brand Desenrasco says it focuses on sustainable, handmade shoes. She runs a flagship store in the old town of Leer, Lower Saxony, in the style of a Portuguese café. The jury highlighted these aspects in its reasoning: “In the middle of Leer, the attitude to life of such Portuguese shoes is a neighborhood with East Frisian down-to-earthness. Here, right at the museum harbor, Bianca Both and Matthias Janßen invite you to their unique “shoe café”! The seductive scent of sweet and savory southern delights and coffee, but also of the finest leather, promises an exciting visit between soups and sneakers, organic coffee and Budapesters,” says the jury’s statement.
The Desenrasco team is pleased: “We thank everyone who makes our vision possible every day and are extremely happy about this recognition. As a young company, we are particularly happy about feedback and we see this public recognition as a strong signal for the retail industry of tomorrow!”
Desenrasco is currently on an expansion course and is expanding its dealer network, most recently also in Switzerland. Nevertheless, the company’s headquarters will remain in Leer.
