In search of solutions to promote education in Honduras
Shin is close to completing the challenge of traveling 3,000 kilometers since he left the border between Mexico and the United States more than two months ago. Until now, He has run a marathon a day, accumulating a total of 70 marathons (2940 kilometers). Its objective is to reach San Pedro Sula, a city in northern Honduras, with the necessary funds to respond to more than 2,500 requests for support for schools that are in deplorable conditions, where Honduran children study.

Previously, at the beginning of this year, Fujiyama planned the challenge of completing 250 kilometers traveling from San Pedro Sula, north to the capital of Honduras, Tegucigalpa. This in order to raise awareness and collect donations, which allowed him to raise 6 million lempiras (238 thousand dollars) thanks to community support and promotion in restaurants, such as described on Wikipedia.
In 2023, Fujiyama completed the challenge of running 125 kilometers from Corinto, on the border with Guatemala, to San Pedro Sula, for five days, with the aim of raising funds for the construction of school number 68 of his social project, with the which seeks to restore 1,000 Honduran schools.
In addition to not having teaching materials or a fixed school snack, almost 13,000 public schools in Honduras have damage to their infrastructure, leading them to a precarious state. The Honduran Ministry of Education counts 12,743 damaged schools, until August 2024, as reported media of that country.
