Voting for the first phase of Jharkhand assembly elections will be held on November 13. In this phase, voting will be held on 43 seats in the state, in which the fate of more than 600 candidates will be decided. Out of total 2.60 crore voters, about 1.37 crore voters will be eligible to vote in the first phase of Jharkhand Assembly elections. A total of more than 600 candidates are contesting in the first phase. Voting for the remaining seats will be held in the second phase on November 20. The results of the assembly elections will come on 23 November.
How many candidates are crorepatis in the state?
According to the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) report, released after the affidavit, about 63 candidates have assets worth more than Rs 5 crore, which means 9.24% of the candidates contesting the elections. Whereas 78 candidates i.e. 11.44% candidates own property worth Rs 2 crore to Rs 5 crore. About 198 candidates (29.03%) from the state have declared their assets between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 2 crore. Similarly, assets of 199 candidates (29.18%) have been declared between Rs 10 lakh and 50 lakh. 144 or 21.11% candidates in the state have assets less than Rs 10 lakh.

Talking about the richest candidate, it is Kandomanee Bhumij, an independent candidate contesting from Potka (ST) constituency of East Singhbhum district. She is the richest candidate of the first phase. He has declared his total assets to be Rs 80 crore.

Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha candidate Sushil Topno is the poorest candidate in the first phase. He is contesting from Sisai (ST) assembly constituency of Gumla district. Topno has declared his net worth to be just Rs 7,000, which is all his movable assets. He does not own any real estate.
Which party has the most millionaire candidates?
BJP is at the forefront in the list of crorepati candidates. 30 out of 36 (83%) BJP candidates have declared assets worth more than Rs 1 crore. On the other hand, 18 out of 23 candidates of the ruling JMM (about 78% of the candidates) and about 94% of the candidates of the Congress (16 out of 17 candidates) are crorepatis. According to ADR, among other parties, 7 candidates of BSP, 4 of RJD and 2 of JDU have declared their assets worth more than Rs 1 crore.
