Fiege is building a new logistics center in Borna

The Greven-based logistics service provider Fiege has started building a state-of-the-art multi-user logistics center in Borna, southeast of Leipzig. By late summer 2025, around 38,000 square meters of logistics space as well as office, administrative and social rooms will be built on a site measuring around 80,000 square meters.

The logistics center is designed as a multi-user center that can serve customers from different industries and meets the requirements of a hazardous materials warehouse thanks to a hall sole with WGK 3 sealing. The project is being realized by Fiege Real Estate.

When planning, the company also relies on sustainable construction and environmental standards. These include a wooden facade and resource-saving mineral wool insulation, air-water heat pumps for heating or efficient LED lighting. Fiege is therefore aiming for the EG-40 standard and the gold standard of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). Managing Director Kai Alfermann says: “The many measures in the Energy Solutions area – from PV systems to green heat to promising storage solutions – contribute to developing our logistics properties into small, sustainable power plants. Our new logistics center in Borna fits in seamlessly.”
