“It is more of a hope rather than an expectation that the mood will improve and the trade will look positively into the new season,” is the assessment of the operators of the SOC Hannover on the new round of orders. “We hope that traders will look around more and use our order days for information. We don’t expect any major changes in visitor numbers.”
The organizers in the SOC consider the division of areas to be one of the challenges: “There are more and more colleagues who now cover large areas and would have to be in several SOCs at the same time because the order days overlap. Traders are trying to get earlier and earlier dates, so that late order days become less important. An equalization would be good for everyone.” The SOC also offers accessories for the shoe. “But we have also noticed positively that more retailers are now coming to our specialty retail Sundays in addition to the shoe order days and are expanding their textile offerings.”
According to the organizers, the Shoes + More Order Days with numerous guest exhibitors offer the largest range of collections in northern Germany. “Together with our SOC tenants, over 170 collections are presented to retailers, which has been very well received. Our tenants have now expanded the event to include additional order days for customers.” The Kids + More order days also offer an extensive range of collections: “Both events are always fully booked by exhibitors,” says the SOC. Our order days are supplemented by small services such as the SOC Bistro, which opens directly in the SOC on order days in order to shorten customer journeys. “At the start of the season there is always a free lunch and cake buffet with cakes baked by our tenants. Customers really value the intimacy and personality in our SOC.”
