From February 2025, a new addition will expand the BTE team: Sönke Padberg will be responsible for advising fashion retail companies and especially shoe stores on technical and business issues. General member support also falls into his area of responsibility. At the same time, Padberg will take over the management of the BTE office in Berlin, which is located on the premises of the German Trade Association (HDE). In the course of 2025, the BTE will relocate its association headquarters to Berlin.
Padberg looks back on a long-term career in consulting and management positions. The “Fachwirt BTE”, who was trained at the LDT Nagold, ran his parents’ shoe and sports chain store of the same name in the Ruhr area and Münsterland. As a retail manager, he worked at, among others, Tamaris, Mephisto, Lloyd and in real estate development. Most recently, he joined the management consultancy Fashionconsult as a senior consultant for restructuring, M&A and strategy development in May 2023.
