Mr. Geimer, under the motto Connected Commerce at the customer day, the focus was on the fact that the various tools can communicate with each other and are linked. How can this be developed further and what potential do you see for retail here?
Michael Geimer: We see enormous potential here to make trading more flexible, efficient and innovative. Headless approaches in e-commerce and ERP will play a crucial role in the future. Companies should consider these technologies to ensure their competitiveness and provide customers with a superior shopping experience.
You also mentioned headless commerce as a future topic in your presentation. The front end and back end should be separated from each other. What does this mean in practice?
The separation of user interfaces (frontend) and business logic/data processing (backend) creates greater flexibility, scalability and adaptability. This is necessary in order to be able to react better and faster to changes in the market from a technological perspective. This can also reduce investment costs because, for example, different sales channels (online shops, apps, etc.) can be integrated much more quickly and cost-effectively.
For which Etos programs is this relevant?
In short, for all of our software solutions. We have been developing in this direction for a long time. By decoupling Shop Commander, which was originally developed purely as a module for Apollon, via our Needle apps, which can also interact with other systems, we have taken the first steps towards headless.
What advantages should the dealer have in practice?
One of the key advantages is the seamless integration and interaction of in-house or partner/third-party applications. This enables faster adaptation to market trends and customer requirements.
What feedback was there on Customer Day and what are the plans for next year?
The response was very positive. Our approach was not just to show products and give nice lectures, but to create real added value by focusing on relevant topics and using practical examples to show how the future can work today. The positive feedback encourages us to continue combining and expanding the customer day with the in-house exhibition in the future.
