Imran’s party halts demonstrations
The party of jailed former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan formally called off the protests on Wednesday, blaming authorities for a midnight crackdown that left at least four people dead and more than 50 injured. Earlier, Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party claimed that “hundreds” of people were killed in violent clashes with security personnel.
