On December 1st, the recycling market association’s recycling design prize was awarded for the eleventh time. Innovative and creative upcycling ideas will be honored in this open competition. The range of entries includes products and concepts in which materials that have become useless or industrial production residues are recycled. The Post Cov sneaker from Nat-2 took first place out of entries from 400 designers. The two recycled materials have played an important role in the pandemic. On the outside, the shoe is made of printed insulation from refrigerators, such as those used for vaccines, among other things. The transparent blue rubber soles were made from nitrile rubber gloves with an expired expiration date.
From December 1st to March 31st, 2025, the shoe will be shown together with other submissions in an exhibition at the Marta Herford Museum in Herford, North Rhine-Westphalia. The exhibition then moves to the North Gallery of the Kunstverein Tiergarten Berlin and the New Museum in Nuremberg.
