Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Tesla owner Elon Musk and Indian-American businessman Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. “I am pleased to announce that Elon Musk, along with American patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE),” Trump announced. Ramaswamy is the first Indian-American to be appointed to the position in the Trump administration, which takes effect from January 20 next year.
What did Trump say?
“Together, these two will pave the way for my administration to eliminate government bureaucracy, reduce excessive regulation, cut wasteful spending, and reorganize federal agencies, which is essential to the Save America movement,” Trump said. He said Republican leaders have long dreamed of DOGE. Government Efficiency External advice and guidance to government and partnership with the White House and Office of Management and Budget to advance broad-based structural reform and an entrepreneurial approach to government have never been seen before.
