Puma opens new design studio – schuhkurier
The Herzogenaurach-based sporting goods manufacturer Puma announces the opening of the design studio Studio48. The project, located at the headquarters, is primarily intended to advance the development of ideas for new performance and sportstyle products as well as design new campaigns. Studio48 is therefore part of the company’s strategy to achieve sustainable growth by strengthening the brand.
The studio itself covers an area of over 500 square meters. In addition to a 3D printing system, leather and textile sewing machines and product testing areas, there is also a photo studio and meeting rooms. The location will not only serve to bring designers from different departments together, but also to work on collections with external partners.
“With the new Studio48 we are creating an important tool to make our designs even better and strengthen the brand,” says Heiko Desens, Vice President Creative Direction & Innovation at Puma. “While many of our products are created digitally, Studio48 will be a space for a different kind of creativity, where our designers from different departments can brainstorm together, learn about new materials and touch and feel the products they want to make .”
In December 2024, Puma celebrated the opening of the design studio with a workshop organized together with the US upcycling expert Nicole McLaughlin. Puma designers from all product categories and from various locations around the world took part on the topic of circular economy. Puma has also already announced that it will open a creative center in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Products and campaigns are to be developed here specifically for the US market.
