Sunita Williams’ space missions postponed until March NASA SpaceX Crew Dragon 10 – Sunita Williams’ return from space will be delayed again. This time NASA gave this reason. Find out when she will return to Earth.

Washington: Astronaut Sunita Williams has been stuck in space for a long time. On June 5, she went to the International Space Station (ISS) with her partner Butch Wilmore via a Boeing Starliner. His return was not possible due to technical problems with the Starliner. His return is postponed again. This happened due to the delay in launching the next crew. The astronauts were originally scheduled to return in February 2025. But NASA announced Tuesday that they will remain in space until at least the end of March.

The mission for both was originally going to last 8 days. But problems with the Starliner, such as a helium leak and poor propulsion, forced NASA to return it to Earth empty. Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore remained on the International Space Station and continued their work. While NASA continued to make its plans. The delay is due to preparations for the new SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, where NASA and SpaceX chose to prioritize safety over speed.

Attention to security is important

“Building, assembling, testing and final integration of a new spacecraft is a difficult process that requires great attention to detail,” said Steve Stich, head of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. The Crew-9 mission, carrying Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov, launched to the International Space Station on September 30 to replace Williams and Willmore. But efforts to return the two failed due to other technical problems as well as the threats of Hurricane Helen.

Williams will remain in space for 10 months

Missions to the International Space Station typically last six months. But because of the delay, Willmore and Williams will spend about 10 months in space. The next crew launch, SpaceX’s Crew-10 mission, is expected in late March. It will include NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nicole Ayers, Russian astronaut Kirill Peskov and Japanese astronaut Takuya Onishi. Delivery will be made after they arrive.
