ANWR Children’s Aid: Two projects for Ukrainian children
The ANWR Kinderhilfe association, which is part of the ANWR Group, has been involved in two projects for children and young people in Ukraine. In mid-November, ANWR employees were called upon to pack packages with gifts for Ukrainian children. In this way, orphans in particular should receive a little joy at Christmas. For the organization, ANWR Kinderhilfe works with a private initiative that is committed to supporting the Ukrainian population.
ANWR Kinderhilfe also received a donation from Helmut Strauch, a shoe retailer from Burg/Spreewald, with the purpose of helping children in Ukraine. ANWR Kinderhilfe doubled the amount to a total of 21,000 euros. Lists of needs were drawn up with local contacts, ranging from food to medicine and diapers to power generators. All of these needed items were collected at the ANWR Mainhausen location and brought to Ukraine by volunteers in a relief convoy on December 18th. Frank Schuffelen, board member of ANWR Kinderhilfe, states: βFor me, it is fascinating to experience what people, employees and members can achieve together when they combine their strengths. You almost have the feeling that the cooperative principles are more than lived here.β
