Israel’s military said on Thursday it carried out airstrikes on Houthi terrorist targets in Yemen.
A military spokesman said the strikes targeted energy and port infrastructure used by the Houthis as part of their “military action”.
Houthi-run media reported attacks in the Yemeni capital Sanaa and the Red Sea port city of Hodeida and said the strikes hit a power station and an oil facility.
Some time ago, Israel had said that it had stopped a missile fired from Yemen.
The Houthis have launched several missile attacks directed at Israel and carried out drone and missile attacks on ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden for more than a year.
The Iran-backed Houthis say their operation is in solidarity with Palestinians amid the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.
The United States has designated Hamas and the Houthis as terrorist groups.
