Tiger Woods’ son Charlie hit his first hole-in-one on Sunday while the pair played together in the PNC Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando.
Despite losing the tournament to Bernhard Langer and his son Jason, it was a memorable day for the Woods family when Charlie hit a hole-in-one on the 176-yard, par-3 fourth.
Awaiting TV confirmation it was dropped
“Having that moment with Charlie, making his first hole-in-one, was the thrill of a lifetime, [daughter] Sam on the bag, just our family and friends. This incident is about this. “It’s about relationships and family,” Woods said.
“We heard it green on the right and left, but we were totally unsure until the TV confirmed it and we went crazy.”
And son Charlie said: “It was amazing to have dad there. It was so much fun. Of course, never saw it go in, so it sucks but that’s OK.”
He considered the hole-in-one to be the most fun he’s had on a golf course: “It’s not even close.”
The PNC Championship was Tiger Woods’ first public round of golf since he missed the cut at The Open Championship in July.
Woods had successful back surgery three months ago and has not yet announced his playing plans for 2025.
Langer wins sixth title in playoff against Woods
Bernhard Langer won the PNC Championship for the sixth time – his fourth win with son Jason on Sunday, including two wins with older son Stefan.
He sank an eagle putt to defeat Woods on the first playoff hole.
This tournament is for major winners of any tour or Players Championship and one family member. The total prize money for the tournament is a relatively modest $1 million (approximately €960,000).
