Former US President Bill Clinton hospitalized due to fever – DW – 12/24/2024
Former US President Bill Clinton was admitted to a hospital in Washington DC for “testing and observation” on Monday afternoon after coming down with a fever.
The 78-year-old man was admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Local news reported that it was not an emergency.
“She is in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care she received,” Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, Angel Ureña, said in a statement on the social media platform X.
Clinton served two terms as the 42nd president, from 1993 to 2001. Recently, he addressed the Democratic National Convention while campaigning for Vice President Kamala Harris’ bid for the White House.
Clinton’s health is scary
The former President has faced several health problems since his tenure.
Clinton underwent quadruple bypass surgery in 2004 after experiencing persistent chest pain and returned to the hospital in 2005 with a partially collapsed lung.
In 2010, he had stents placed in his coronary arteries, but his health improved after adopting a largely vegetarian diet.
In 2021, the former president was hospitalized again due to an infection that spread through his bloodstream.
