Palestinian officials said on Wednesday that at least 15 people were killed in Israeli air strikes in northern and central Gaza.
One of the attacks hit a house in the Jabaliya area of northern Gaza, while the other hit the Burij refugee camp in the center of the Gaza Strip.
Israel’s military did not immediately comment on the attacks, but earlier on Wednesday it warned people to evacuate the Burij area, saying militants based there were firing rockets.
Israel has repeatedly told people to leave parts of Gaza, while the military says the evacuation is necessary to safely wage the war against Hamas militants.
The United Nations and humanitarian organizations have criticized Israeli tactics, saying that evacuation orders often give people too little time to evacuate and they have little safe place to go in Gaza to escape airstrikes and Israeli ground operations. Are not.
The war in Gaza began in October 2023 with Hamas militants attacking southern Israel, killing 1,200 and taking about 250 hostages. About 100 hostages are being held in Gaza, at least a third of whom are believed dead.
Israeli counter-attacks in Gaza killed at least 45,500 Palestinians and injured more than 108,000, according to the health ministry in the enclave. The ministry does not differentiate between terrorists and civilians in its counting.
The war has destroyed large areas of Gaza and displaced 90% of its 2.3 million people.
The United States, United Kingdom, European Union, and others have designated Hamas as a terrorist organization.
