A small plane crashed through the window of a commercial manufacturing building in Southern California on Thursday, killing at least two people and injuring 18 others, police said.
The incident occurred near Fullerton Municipal Airport, which is 25 miles (40 kilometers) southeast of Los Angeles.
“Two deaths have been confirmed,” Fullerton police said on Twitter.
However, the identities of the victims are still unknown, including whether they were on the plane or on the ground.
Police said 10 people were taken to hospital and eight were treated at the scene after the plane entered a furniture building.
The plan covered some distance
The plane was in the air for less than two minutes after taking off from Fullerton Municipal Airport in Orange County before the crash, flight tracking website FlightAware reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane was a single-engine Van RV-10, four-seat aircraft.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) also said in a social media post that it was investigating the crash.
