Two police officers were injured, one seriously, after an explosion outside a police building in Berlin on Thursday night.
Authorities in the German capital said officers were on routine security patrol when an unidentified object exploded near the fence.

One officer suffered facial and eye injuries, while another experienced “sonic shock”. Both received medical treatment.
The blast, on which police have not yet commented, came after 30 German law enforcement officers were injured on New Year’s Eve, one of whom was seriously injured by illegally manufactured fireworks.
