The Federal Statistical Office has announced preliminary results for the inflation rate for the last few months. The consumer price index is said to have risen by 2.6% in December 2024 compared to the same month last year. Compared to November 2024, prices have risen by 0.4%. Core inflation, i.e. excluding food and energy, is expected to be +3.1% in December 2024. An annual average increase of 2.2% is forecast for 2024.
