The Herzogenaurach-based sporting goods manufacturer Adidas announces its new cooperation with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. The manufacturer will design and develop a complete collection that, according to Mercedes, “combines performance and style for the entire team, including drivers, mechanics and engineers.” With the new partnership, Adidas is entering the premier class of the “fastest-growing sports” and will not only design clothing, shoes and accessories for the team, but also for the fans.
Bjørn Gulden, CEO of Adidas, said: “We are very pleased to be represented in the world of motorsport again. Interest in motorsport in general and Formula 1 in particular has increased significantly. It reaches new consumers and has a major influence on sport and street culture. We are very proud to introduce the Three Stripes to Formula 1 as the official team partner of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team – one of the most successful teams of all time.”
“Our partnership with adidas is a clear statement of intent as we begin our next chapter as a team,” says Toto Wolff, co-owner and team principal of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. “Adidas is an iconic brand that shares our commitment not only to excellence, but also to style and sophistication. This announcement therefore represents a groundbreaking collaboration that will redefine the meaning of team and fan apparel in our sport. We look forward to embarking on this new path and working with adidas as we fight for world championships together.”
