The nation honors Jimmy Carter
Jimmy Carter, who considered himself an outsider even as he sat in the Oval Office as the 39th US president, was honored with a funeral at Washington National Cathedral on Thursday. President Joe Biden praised Carter at a ceremony attended by all living US presidents. After leaving the White House, Carter’s legacy will be remembered for his lifelong commitment to humanitarian work. We spoke to one man who says Carter’s work changed the course of his life. Faith Cooper, a former Liberian refugee, is regional director at the International Rescue Committee.
