HCL Tech Employees: HCL Tech, India’s third largest IT company, increased its employee count by 2,134 employees in the October-December 2024 quarter. With this increase, the total number of employees in the company increased to 2,20,755 in the December quarter. HCL Tech’s employee count had decreased by 780 in the July-September 2024 quarter. There was a decrease of 8,080 employees in the April-June 2024 quarter.
The attrition rate in HCL Tech increased marginally to 13.2 percent in the December quarter. It was 12.9 percent in the July-September 2024 quarter. On the other hand, the number of employees of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the country’s largest IT company, has decreased by 5,370 employees during the December 2024 quarter.
Now the target of hiring how many freshers in FY25
HCL Tech has reduced the target of hiring of freshers to 7000 freshers for the financial year 2024-25. Earlier, the company had said to hire more than 10,000 freshers in the financial year 2024-25. Lower attrition rate and better productivity have been cited as the reason behind this reduction.
HCL Tech Chief People Officer Ramachandran Sundararajan said in a press conference after announcing the results for the October-December 2024 quarter, ‘In the first half of the financial year April-September 2024, we added about 4,000 freshers. After this, 2,134 freshers were added in Q3 i.e. October-December. Due to this, a total of 6,000 freshers have been hired so far this financial year. We expect to add another 1,000 freshers in Q4 i.e. January-March 2025, taking the final headcount for FY2025 to around 7,000.’
Profit increased 5% in Q3
HCL Tech’s consolidated net profit during the December 2024 quarter increased by 5.58 per cent year-on-year to Rs 4,594 crore. Meanwhile, consolidated revenue from operations increased 5 percent to Rs 29,890 crore from a year ago. The company has also announced the fourth interim dividend for the financial year 2024-25.
