ANWR-Garant Swiss wants to optimize processes in the industry

Three steps to digitalization

Schenk describes digitalization as a process that takes place in three steps. The first step is to build a solid foundation by collecting data and harmonizing processes to ensure transparency and stability. In the second step, the interaction between retailers and suppliers will be optimized. This is achieved through the use of interfaces and automated processes that make the exchange more efficient and smoother. The third step is about using the collected data sensibly. With the help of intelligent data analysis, personalized offers can be developed and curated ranges can be created that respond to the individual needs of customers. For Schenk, it is crucial that digitalization is not viewed in isolation: “We have to move away from pure data exchange towards real collaboration that brings efficiency and benefits for everyone involved. To do this, we have to think beyond our own company.”
ANWR-Garant SWISS AG offers workshops and boot camps to support retailers in optimizing their own inventories, structuring processes and providing targeted training for employees. “Only those who are prepared to invest in digital working environments will remain competitive in the long term,” explains Schenk. The investment in this transformation is estimated at around 1.5 to 3% of external sales. Companies that actively participate in boot camps are characterized by their mindset. “What separates the best specialist retailers from the good or mediocre? Your mindset for digitalization: the understanding that digitalization doesn’t just mean technology, but must be supported by everyone in the company,” says Schenk.
