Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national coordinator Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday filed nomination papers from New Delhi constituency for the upcoming assembly elections and declared total assets worth Rs 1.73 crore. According to Kejriwal’s affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, his assets include bank savings worth Rs 2.96 lakh and cash of Rs 50,000. His immovable property is worth Rs 1.7 crore.
According to news agency PTI, the affidavit has revealed that Arvind Kejriwal does not have any house or car. According to this, Kejriwal’s income in the financial year 2023-24 was Rs 7.21 lakh.
Wife Sunita Kejriwal has assets worth Rs 2.5 crores.
The affidavit states that Kejriwal’s wife Sunita has total assets worth Rs 2.5 crore, which includes movable assets worth more than Rs 1 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 1.5 crore.
It is told that Sunita Kejriwal has 320 grams of gold worth Rs 25 lakh, one kilogram silver worth Rs 92,000, a house in Gurugram and a small five-seater car.
According to the affidavit, the Kejriwal couple have total assets worth Rs 4.23 crore.
Kejriwal’s wealth decreased!
Kejriwal had declared total assets worth Rs 3.4 crore in his election affidavit filed in 2020. In the 2015 election affidavit, he had declared his assets to be Rs 2.1 crore.
Senior AAP leader and former Delhi minister Satyendra Jain also filed his nomination from Shakur Basti assembly constituency. According to Jain’s affidavit, his net worth is Rs 4.4 crore, which includes movable assets worth Rs 30.67 lakh and immovable assets worth Rs 4.12 crore.
Voting for the assembly elections in Delhi will be held in a single phase on February 5. Counting of votes will be done on February 8.
