The Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags wants to expand its range of leather goods. For this purpose, the organizer Riva del Garda Fierecongressi has developed a concept that was presented to the public at the most recent event from January 11th to 14th.
“It is a strategic project that arose from the need to increase the presence of manufacturers of bags, small leather goods and travel items at the trade fair and thus further enrich the event’s offer, from which the shoe segment also benefits,” explains Alessandra Albarelli, managing director of the organizer Riva del Garda Fierecongressi.
The concept includes three separate areas to make orientation easier for shoppers, says organizer Riva del Garda Fierecongressi. The area Gardabags Sourcing includes lower-end manufacturers targeting mass-market customers. The segment “Gardabag’s Sourcing4Bridge” brings together manufacturers in the mid-range segment. The providers should have the necessary infrastructure to work closely with buyers and implement specific designs, for example for own brands. On the surface Gardabags Brands Manufacturers of branded products should find their place. In addition, there will be a separate area for luggage, announces Expo Riva.
For the upcoming trade fair from June 14th to 17th, 2025, the organizers are aiming for around 80 to 100 exhibitors. Next year, the Gardabags area will accommodate around 120 exhibitors on an area of around 2,000 square meters. For comparison: At the most recent edition of the Expo Riva Shoes & Gardabags from January 11th to 14th, around 40 companies exhibited in the Gardabags sector.
In addition to the division into three areas, the organizers are planning a modern stand construction. This also includes a short portrait of each exhibitor with information about production locations, capacities, product types and customers.
Unique selling point
By hosting the Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags, the organizers are claiming a unique selling point. Gianpaola Pedretti, Exhibition Manager, says: “There is currently no trade fair in Europe that is specifically focused on accessories – bags, small leather goods, belts and luggage – in the way that Expo Riva Schuh is focused on shoes. A trade fair that addresses the same price range and product type. Our exploratory trips to China, Turkey and India, discussions with companies and feedback from our extensive network of delegates worldwide have confirmed this.”
