Indian Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan has been admitted to hospital for surgery after being repeatedly stabbed in a robbery attempt at his home in Mumbai, his public relations team said.
His wife, Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan, said that she and both their children are fine. Police said that meanwhile a female employee was attacked and is undergoing treatment.

The 54-year-old Bollywood actor lives with his wife and two sons in Mumbai’s posh area Bandra. Police said the attack “appears to be an attempted robbery,” adding that the culprit has been identified and a search is currently underway.
There is a heavy police presence at Khan’s residence after the attack last night. Several Indian news agencies showed footage of officials investigating.
Doctors said Khan is “on the road to a full recovery” after the surgery.
Nitin Dange, one of the doctors who operated on Khan, said, “He suffered major injury to his thoracic spinal cord due to the knife getting stuck in his spine. It was necessary to remove the knife and repair the leaking spinal fluid. Surgery was performed.”

Good wishes and prayers for his recovery have been pouring in from members of the film industry and other celebrities.
Actor NT Rama Rao Jr. said on X, “Shocked and saddened to hear about the attack on Saif sir. Wishing and praying for his speedy recovery and good health.”
Others expressed concerns about a security breach.
“If with such high-profile people [high] They can be attacked at the level of security in their homes, what can happen to ordinary citizens?” Nationalist Congress Party spokesperson Clyde Crasto wrote on Twitter.
Khan has appeared in approximately 70 films and television series in his career, some of which he has also produced.
He is the son of cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and actress Sharmila Tagore.
