That was the Pitti Uomo

Florence is calling – and the latest styles for men have followed. The 107th edition of the men’s fashion fair Pitti Uomo once again found its way into the halls of Fortezza da Basso, in the middle of the culturally rich city in Tuscany. While models and content creators show off their outfits in front of the exhibition halls, the actual action takes place in the busy areas. This is where pens are pulled out, writing pads are filled and collections are examined.

But what awaits the gentlemen? The tenor: comfort, but dressed. The fact is that the demand for more dressed-up styles is growing. It is also a fact that men currently prefer to be comfortable. A balancing act that sounds contradictory, but is mastered brilliantly by the collections. The answer lies in the qualities: materials are presented together with new surfaces and procurements. Although there are no really wide trousers, all signs point to casual and hybrid solutions: a piece of clothing is ideal if it can be worn with a suit as well as in leisure time.

In terms of color, men’s fashion is more reserved this fall/winter season and is expanding its tried-and-tested color spectrums. Brown is explored in all its depth, ranging from caramel to chocolate, bordering on gray here and orange there. Green remains, but often stays in the background, while blue (especially ice blue!) and black form the basis. With the current palette, the colors appear reserved but meaningful. And perhaps this is exactly what attracts one or two gentlemen to the area.

You can find a detailed trade fair report with pictures of the collections in the upcoming issue 04/2025 of schuhkurier.
