It seems that in the end the orange man was not so orange. The orange man was voted by many of the orange team because they believed that he was going to use the resources at his disposal to make a large reserve of oranges. But just before taking office it turns out that he started making a large reserve of manure.

Ross understood that under natural law every adult has the right to interact with another person, respecting their consent and without the need for unwanted third parties to intervene in the exchange. The orange team shares this vision and understands that the confinement of an innocent person is something unfair that must be amended. But not everyone on the orange team thinks the same about why or how.
There is a part of the orange team that respectfully and continually ask the orange man to release Ross. The members of this subclassification of the orange team pray: “Oh dear Mr. Orange, please grant Ross your mercy! Free him from the clutches of the Federal Government. Of that government whose existence you always supported, of which you are part and promote, of which I recognize its legitimacy and which you have even administered for four years previously without having freed this innocent man. Oh, Mr. Orange, we promise that if you do, you will have our support so that you can do everything – or almost everything – you want to do. Amen”
What that part of the orange team does not see is that Ross is imprisoned precisely because they accept his confinement. Even despite all the petition campaigns for his release. Democratic, republican, voting, law-abiding bitcoiners, that is, statist bitcoiners, support the existence of the State. As much as they may not want it, the reality of the facts is that you cannot ask a president for clemency without at the same time accepting that he has a legitimate authority to lavish that clemency. What this sub-collective of the orange team does not see is that Mr. Orange is just another person. A human being with the same rights and obligations as any other human being.
Mr. Orange is the one who is currently holding Ross back through violence and force. That man is the one who is missing. It is Mr. Orange who, every minute he remains in power, tolerates the beginning of aggression against innocents such as Ulbricht. This being just one more example among many other millions of human beings also violated by him and by his state apparatus that enhances aggression.
Whoever initiates or extends violence against another is the one who must be punished by society. Whether by restricting their actions, excommunicated, banished, deprived of public resources or at least ignored. By asking Mr. Orange to please cease violence against the individual Ross, but at the same time tolerating him to maintain and promote violence against all the other millions of human beings currently coerced by the state apparatus, the commission of new injustices is encouraged. Even without wanting it.

Ross is innocent, but so are each of the USD users who are robbed through inflation. Ulbricht must be free but all commercial exchange must also be free between every human being of legal age who consents to trade in the way he chooses to do so. The creator of Silk Road deserves to be able to return to his family and enjoy the rest of his life the way he wants, but so does each of the prisoners accused of committing victimless crimes. (For example, in the US, one of the victimless “crimes” that most fuels the private prison industry are non-compliant drug dealers)
This author can’t help but ask the rest of the orange team: If the orange man frees Ross and then Ross puts Silk Road back into production, what do you think is going to happen? Would Ross still be free after committing that action again? What if instead of Ross it is Juan Pérez who does it? Wouldn’t Juan also be persecuted by the orange man whom they tolerate?
Wouldn’t it be best for the global human community to ask Mr. Orange or whoever takes his place to stop violence against all innocent people? Or rather: Wouldn’t it be better to act accordingly by creating peaceful free exchange mechanisms that allow people to escape that violence?
Like it or not, supporting a potential presidential pardon recognizes the state authority. It is accepted that there are human beings superior to others, owners of others and whose whims must be tolerated by the rest of society. The difference between the timeline in which Ross is a business magnate and the one in which he is treated as a criminal is at the whim of a president. and a reigning political caste. But the tolerance of that whim by the rest of society is what is at stake and, at the individual level, within our control.
All well-intentioned moral actions are correct. Releasing Ross may be a well-intentioned moral action. But it can also simply be a demagogic action aimed at seeking to make the essentially immoral state apparatus endure over time.
The second option is the most expected and logical coming from professional fiat politicians. There is nothing we can do about it as that is out of our control. But what all of us on the orange team can do is ignore authority of the orange man. But not only because he is a mere man, an equal among humans, but especially because he is unaware of the legitimacy of his company. A company based on violence, coercion, monetary inflation, theft, war and the use of coercion to benefit its friends to the detriment of the rest of humanity.
