Washington. After Donald Trump returned to the White House, the American media is once again returning to the era of fact checking. After taking the oath of President, Trump gave two speeches on Monday. 20 mistakes were made in this. According to a report by ‘Washington Post’, during his first term as US President, Trump had made 30,573 false or misleading claims. According to several American media outlets and experts, Trump’s two speeches on Monday contained numerous inaccuracies or lies. CNN has put their count at 20. Some of his comments on the economy, immigration, foreign affairs, electronic vehicles and the 2020 elections were among those that were declared outright lies.

The American media had caught Trump’s habit of lying from the very beginning of his political career. Many media organizations had launched ‘Lie Meter’ or Truth-O-Meter for his 2016-2020 tenure. He counted the number of lies in every speech given by the American President. The Washington Post reported at the end of Trump’s first term in January 2021 that it recorded 492 questionable claims in the first 100 days of his presidency.
