Traditionally, winter sales begin on the last Monday in January, as price reductions were only permitted at that point under the former discount law. This year it falls on January 27, 2025. The BTE is committed to raising awareness for the date. The current A/W season was rather mixed in many stores. The Christmas business in particular often disappointed the hopes of textile, shoe and leather goods retailers. The cold spell in mid-January stimulated business, but could not compensate for the losses. “Customers can look forward to a fairly large selection of autumn/winter fashion, shoes, accessories as well as home and household textiles,” reports Axel Augustin, managing director of BTE.
