The previous bankruptcy event, on the basis of which the employees of Görtz Retail GmbH have already received bankruptcy money from the Federal Employment Agency, has still not been eliminated. Therefore, in the opinion of the Federal Employment Agency, it is not possible to grant the 400 employees again, Böhm told them: “The preliminary insolvency proceedings initiated on January 20, 2025 due to four external applications by landlords will experience an enormously difficult starting situation. Until the final clarification of a possible granting of bankruptcy money, we have to try to generate as much liquidity as possible in order to be able to pay the salaries of employees. ”With the works council, Dr. Böhm intensely, he perceives the motivation of the employees as high. This view is now checked by labor lawyers. Depending on the test result, further legal steps are possible. The managing director of Görtz Retail GmbH has now announced that he would like to agree on the creditors with his own bankruptcy application for the company’s assets. This is to be submitted to the Hamburg Insolvency Court shortly.
Böhm also explained that several well -known prospective buyers initiated the provisional insolvency administrator: “We immediately started discussions with the interested parties. However, the primary goal is to enable salary payments for all employees. At the same time, we are doing everything we can for the traditional company Görtz, whose employees and customers continue in the long term. However, the solution for this is not in our hands. ”Görtz brand rights are not part of Görtz Retail GmbH, they are owned by an Austrian society.
